Background & Aim: Breast carcinoma is the most common malignant tumor and the leading cause of carcinoma death in women. One of the factors which have been proposed in prognosis and treatment of breast carcinoma is hormonal status and hormonal receptors. In this study, we investigated histopathology(prognostic factors) and biologic markers(estrogen receptor ER, progesterone receptor PR, P53...
متن کاملSteroid hormone receptors, MIB-1, p53, and c-erb-B2 expression on breast cancer: Comparison of immunohistochemistry on cell block and fine needle aspiration and tissue sample, in northwest Iran
Background: Fine-needle aspiration of breast cancer often provides moderate cellular material that is representative of the tumors. These samples can be used not only for cytological diagnosis but also to obtain information on the prognosis and likely response to therapy by using immunohistochemical staining studies. Methods: We assessed the degree of correlation between prognostic biologic ma...
متن کاملGene-Gene Interaction Study Between Genetic Polymorphisms of Folate Metabolism and MTR SNPs on Prognostic Features Impact for Breast Cancer
Background: Breast Cancer (BC), the second leading cause of cancer mortality after lung cancer and varied across the world due to genetic and environmental factors. In this study, we evaluated the interaction between the polymorphisms in genes encoding enzymes of folate metabolism: methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR), methionine synthesis reductase (MTR) with the BC prognostic factors. ...

Background: Breast cancer is formed of a neoplastic component (epithelial) and a non-neoplastic component (stroma). Stromal- stromal and tumor- stromal interactions have been shown in the regulation of cancer cell growth, metastatic capacity and outcome of treatment. Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are a component of tumor stroma reactionsand are considered as an important ...
